Doolin Coast Guard Station

Mosco Group was responsible for the detailed design, engineering and delivery of the Polycarbonate rain-screen façade for the new Doolin Coast-Guard station in County Clare, Ireland.

The architectural concepts were very demanding, requiring more than 30 curved translucent corners with heights up to 4.6 meters.

The design, engineering and fabrication of these were carried out by Mosco Group using Arcoplus 547™ 40mm multi-wall polycarbonate panels.

The position of the building on the shore-line of Ireland’s Atlantic west coast required careful attention to the wind-loads on the rain-screen facade. Mosco Group carried out thorough engineering-analysis to ensure that the façade structure is adequately robust and precise.
